Today, we’re talking alllll about email marketing tips, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’m wildly obsessed and passionate about email because I know the impact it can have on your coaching business.
And it’s BIG!
Reach more people (with less money and effort) big…
Impact more lives than ever big…
Buy the purse AND the shoes big…
Get my point?
You’re likely here because you know email marketing is an essential part of every successful entrepreneur’s marketing plan (if you don’t, you do now!). BUT with more than 306.4 billion emails sent and received *EACH DAY* this year, I bet you’re finding it more difficult than ever to cut through the noise and reach your audience.
Fun fact: That number of emails sent and received each day will increase by 17% over the next three years alone. *mind blown*
Which means some of your old marketing tactics aren’t going to cut it. If you want to crush your goals in 2021 and beyond, you need to step up your email marketing game by packing your toolbox with a few new tips and tricks.
I’m sharing the top four email marketing tips I use in my business to help me generate leads, sell-out my courses, and build an incredibly profitable business.
It doesn’t matter if you have 1,000 or 10,000 email subscribers; you should never stop building a list of genuine and loyal readers you can convert into clients. I get it… it’s easy to get a little lax once you’ve hit your goal numbers, but what will happen when people start unsubscribing or worse, when you’re ready to level up your business, and you don’t have as many subscribers as you need to reach your goal?
You wind up in panic mode, hustling morning till’ night trying to increase your subscriber list in time for your newest course launch. But if you continue to build your list year-round, you can go into any special promotion or launch without worrying if you have enough people to send it to.
There’s already enough things to stress about as an online business, don’t let this be one of them.
And if you’re just getting started with email marketing, I’ve got you covered with my FREE 5 Steps to Your First 100 Email Subscribers guide (pssst, you’ll want to download this ASAP!).
Unlike outbound marketing strategies (direct mail, commercials, print ads), inbound marketing opens the virtual doors for real and meaningful conversations to take place with your audience. The opportunity to talk directly with your community is priceless, so you need to take advantage of it.
Before scheduling an email, see if you can encourage your subscribers to hit the reply button and respond to you. You can ask their thoughts on a particular subject, create a poll about what they want to learn more about, or have fun with it and ask what their weekend plans are.
Including a call-to-action can be as easy as asking your audience to follow you on Instagram or read your latest blog post. But don’t be afraid of the hard sell—this can be anything from purchasing your latest e-book or enrolling in your newest course. No matter what your email is about, include an action your subscriber can take. This will also help you gauge a particular email’s success by seeing how many website visitors you received or how many cheat sheets were downloaded.
Pro tip: Depending on how long your email is, include the CTA multiple times throughout the body copy.
While A/B testing sounds intimidating and time-consuming, I promise it’s worth every second of energy you put into it. If you don’t know what elements of your email are working (or which ones aren’t), you’ll never be able to optimize your emails to increase your open and click-through rates. Experiment with different subject lines, snippets, calls to action, and days/times.
To make it easier, most email service providers have A/B testing capabilities built-in, including some of the most popular platforms: MailChimp, Constant Contact, and Campaign Monitor.
Today’s class is officially over, but now you have four more marketing tips and tricks you can add to your toolbag. And with more emails sent and received every single year, it’s clear email marketing isn’t going to slow down anytime soon.
So if you want to keep email as part of your 360-marketing strategy (which I HIGHLY suggest), you’ll need to consistently learn new tactics and adjust your strategy for the best results.
